Market vendors around Viti Levu are now looking forward to the Vuda Market Day next month. The market day is held at the second week of every month. The next one will be at the Vuda Marina on April 13.

Market Day organiser Ronelle Rooyen said it was a platform for artisans, artists and farmers to showcase their products. “The Vuda Market Day is all about locally grown, handmade eats and treats, foodies and goodies.”

She said the vendors came from all over Viti Levu and brought a diverse and interesting list of products and produce. The next one would also include wine tasting and an international table featuring South Africa.

Ms Rooyen said the South African table will have plenty of traditional foods and drinks to buy and try. Vuda Market Day started in 2010 at Vuda Marina as a night event which was a first for the West.

“The market day slowly evolved over the years to become one of the most fun and vibrant markets in Fiji,” Ms Rooyen said. She said the venue was one of the most outstanding in Fiji.

The last market day was two weeks ago. “There were 33 vendors who turned at the last market day.

Each vendor raised their own money for their own profit, and each vendor has to pay $10 for a stall.”

She added it was a day of fun which also involved kids’ activities.

She said there was a cruise ship that arrived with 3500 passengers and many showed up to the market day.
