Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development, Waterways and Environment, Mahendra Reddy says the allocation of $192.9 million

budget for his portfolios means better service delivery throughout the country.

The ministry has been allocated that total budget for capital expenditure.

For Agriculture, $78.7 million is the total for the sector and includes:

$800,000 for upgrading of access roads to our farming communities;

$900,000 for land clearing; and

$4.5 to undertake the 2020 national Agriculture Census to fully enumerate rural and peri-urban farming areas, giving the ministry an up-to-date comprehensive data set that allows for better service delivery to Fijian farmers throughout the country. “The budget that was allocated is not a problem to us to deliver the best service for the people,” the minister said.
