The Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union Southern zone officials believe the lower grades will be their trumpcards in this year’s Vodafone Deans Trophy competition. The second round of competition continued in various zones yesterday. Southern Zone vicepresident Jiuta Mocesui said the lower grades would be their main target.
“One of the changes we saw this year is that the lower grades are competitive from the under-14 to the 17 grades with top schools like Suva Grammar, Marist Brothers High School and John Wesley College.
“In the under-18 and under-19 there will be changes as we progress further with the competition.
“On the field some of the players have yet to change from rugby league code to rugby union since they have been playing league in the first term.”
