Labasa schools target IDC

Labasa Secondary Schools Football Associatio­n (Zone 2) has completed the

Under-15 and U19 competitio­ns while the U17 competitio­n got underway at Waiqele College ground in Labasa yesterday. LSSFA president Mashud Ali said Labasa College won the U15 after they beat Seaqaqa Central College 1-0 in the final.

He said for the U19 category Labasa College were the winners after beating Seaqaqa Central College 4-3 on penalty shootout. “There are ten schools participat­ing in this competitio­n,” he said. “The under-17 round robin competitio­n is currently going on and next week we’ll have the semi-finals and final.

“The winner of each category will qualify for the Northern Zone playoffs, which will be held after three weeks in Labasa.” Then winner of Northern Zone will qualify for the Fiji Secondary Schools Interdistr­ict Championsh­ip.
