Rewa, Labasa share points
Rewa held Labasa to a 1-1 draw to climb out of last place in the Vodafone Premier League at Ratu Ganilau Park, Savusavu, yesterday. Labasa had taken the lead through forward Ilisoni Logaivau before Rewa’s Josateki Tamudu equalised through a free-kick to earn the visitors a hard-fought draw. The teams were locked 1-1 in the first half and could not get a goal in the second despite creating several scoring opportunities. Labasa team manager Nilesh Lal said he was happy with the draw despite coming into the match with the aim of securing three points. “Now we are standing with 12 points and I am very happy with the performance of the players,” Lal said. “Although our aim was to get three points from this match we are satisfied that playing in a different venue wasn’t a factor. “I can confirm now that our coach is Ronil Lal, who has been training the team during the week. “We are confident that the players will perform much better as our aim is to qualify for the O-League.”
