Fiji Sun as media partner again for annual conference
FDA’s 47th annual conference will take place from August 3 to August 4 at the Holiday Inn in Suva.
The Fiji Dental Association (FDA) will host its annual conference next month and Fiji Sun has come on board as a media partner for the second consecutive year.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the organisations yesterday.
FDA’s 47th annual conference will take place from August 3 to August 4 at the Holiday Inn in Suva. FDA President Dr Vikash Singh said the conference has an impressive lineup of prominent international speakers as well as academics from the Fiji National University who will be discussing topics such as sports dentistry, dental implants, clinical restorative methods and medical emergencies in the dental practice.
The theme for this year’s conference is Meeting Oral Health Care Demands through Innovations in Dental Science.
“It is now compulsory for all practitioners to be engaged in continuing professional education activities,” Dr Singh said.
“Licences of dental practitioners are renewed upon meeting certain requirements so this is something we do for our members. “Association membership is important
because in this day and age if you are not an association member and want to continue practicing in your private practice or in public clinics, you miss out on a lot of services that the association provides like fellowship, mentorship and advice on clinical matters.”
Dr Singh said FDA also invites senior dental students every year to participate as well.
“It gives the association an opportunity to mingle with our future colleagues who will be entering the workforce later and giving them an insight into what professional life is like,” he said.
The conference is supported by the Korean, Japanese and New Zealand Dental Associations and they also have representatives coming from Australia.
