Lautoka Football suspends Dave Radrigai for 3 years

Stylish midfielder Dave Radrigai has been slammed with a three-year suspension by the Lautoka Football Associatio­n. This was confirmed to SUNsports yesterday Lautoka FA acting president Rakesh Kumar.

“The disciplina­ry committee has made their decision and Dave is suspended from all level of foot

ball,” he said.

“Although we’ll miss Dave during the INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament since he is our key player but we have to maintain discipline in the side.

“Discipline is very important if a team is to be successful.” Kumar said the Blues are happy that striker star Samuela Drudru has withdrawn his transfer applicatio­n for Nadi and is now a sure starter for the B.O.G.

“The return of national reps like Drudru, goalkeeper Beniamino Mateinaqar­a and midfielder Zibraaz Sahib have strengthen­ed our preparatio­ns. “We’ve had a good preparatio­ns for the B.O.G and are looking forward to our first game.” Lautoka are in Group B where they take on neighbours Nadi, hosts Rewa and Nasinu.

Former national football captain Tagi Vonolagi is back as the interim coach of the Nasinu football team for the B.O.G. Vonolagi was one of the main stay of the Nasinu football side when they got promoted to the Premier division.

The star goalkeeper led Nasinu to win the 1990 Interdistr­ict Championsh­ip under the president Ashok Balgovind.

Yesterday, Vonolagi was training goalkeeper­s Josaia Ratu and Viliame Sivo at the Fiji FA Academy ground in Vatuwaqa, Suva. During the transfer window, Ratu moved to Nasinu from Ba while Sivo left Navua. The Suva football team arrive into the Capital City today.

The Whites are under coach Kamal Swamy have been camping in Nadi to prepare for the B.O.G.
