Marine Trade Day Eyes South Pacific as a Yachting Destination
The local marine operators and businesses are engaging one-on-one with New Zealand companies in Denarau this Friday in their bid to promote the South Pacific as a yachting destination.
The event marks the 4th Marine Trade day since its establishment in 2016.
Port Denarau Marina General Manager Cynthia Rasch said, “This event provides an opportunity for local marine operators and businesses to engage one-on-one with exhibitors.
“The event is a must for our annual calendar and is encouraging to see how the two countries work cohesively to promote the South Pacific as a yachting destination,” she said.
Ms Rasch says Port Denarau Marina once again is proud to work together with NZ Marine to bring the Fiji/NZ Marine Trade day to the Port Denarau Yacht Club.
Overall the Marine Trade day offers an opportunity for visiting vessels to learn about New Zealand as a destination for cruising, passage planning and an opportunity to engage with some of New Zealand’s leading marine industry companies and representatives covering a broad range of facilities and services including marine products, equipment, refit and maintenance.
During the event will include discussion on an update of the 36th America’s Cup Regatta being held in Auckland in 2021.
“There will be eight exhibitors from New Zealand at the trade event,” Ms Rasch said
“The marina expects to have a full house with transient vessels and at least 12 super yachts engaged during this event,” she said. “Marketing of the event includes exposure to a wide range of Fiji contacts and marine service providers and invites both local and international vessels to be part of this trade event.”
The Friday event (July 26) rounds off with a private evening function with the New Zealand High Commissioner along with the NZ Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters in attendance. Furthermore, for the first time NZ Marine will be taking the event to Musket Cove Island Marina tomorrow, July 25.
