Teenager charged for Giv­ing False Info to Take Plea on Au­gust 27

An un­em­ployed teenager who is charged with one count of giv­ing false in­for­ma­tion to a pub­lic ser­vant will take her plea on Au­gust 27.

Asena Roko­marama ap­peared be­fore Mag­is­trate Deepika Prakash at the Mag­is­trates Court in Suva yes­ter­day.

She is al­leged to have given Po­lice of­fi­cers a false name when asked about her par­tic­u­lars and why she was seen late at night at Ratu Sukuna Park on Tues­day night.

Po­lice pros­e­cu­tor Cor­po­ral Luke Qere­waqa served the ac­cused with the full phase dis­clo­sures and did not ob­ject to bail.

The ac­cused sought Le­gal Aid Com­mis­sion rep­re­sen­ta­tion and in­di­cated she un­der­stood the charge, which was read to her in iTaukei.

Mag­is­trate Prakash granted bail to the ac­cused in the sum of $200 and one surety bail bond of $200.

The ac­cused was or­dered not to of­fend while on bail and not to in­ter­fere with any of the pros­e­cu­tion wit­nesses.

Po­lice pros­e­cu­tor Cor­po­ral Luke Qere­waqa served the ac­cused with the full phase dis­clo­sures and did not ob­ject to bail.
