Hospital canteen food

In my view, most snacks and food sold in hospital canteens and its surroundings are unhealthy, despite Government’s sugar crackdown and constant reminders of obesity and healthy eating habits.

Junk food must be banned from being sold inside hospitals and nearby sweet carts. These foods are unhealthy and high in sugar, salt and fat.

How do you expect people to change their eating habits when they go home, if the very place they come to for healing is serving the same food that got them in the hospital in the first place?

It’s appalling that there is no strict regulation on what is sold. What kind of message are we sending to our patients?

We have a crisis that requires Government intervention.
