Botaira Resort Is On Sale
One of Yasawa’s groups picturesque tourist destinations, Botaira Beach Resort, is being put up for sale.
This was confirmed by Bayleys Real Estate (Fiji) Limited.
The resort, which sits on 2.4398 hectares of land on the western side of Naviti Island, boasts a stunning approximately six acre beachfront site on the edge of Vuata Bay.
Owner
The resort is owned by Jerry and Alumita Sovatabua who returned to their own small island after years of professional experience in a 5-star hotel on the main island. The couple have extensive experience in business, having owned and operated several of their own businesses for many years. Preliminary discussions have been held for yet additional acreage to be taken into the resort to provide an even more commanding position within the bay.
Resort
The resort comprises;
■a main expansive Fijian styled beachfront bar
■restaurant bure,
■arrival bure and office,
■one executive guest bure on the beach,
■six additional beachfront bures, four garden bures and
■two dorms holding 30 and 20 guests respectively.
In addition numerous outbuildings house the kitchen, generator and desalination plant, staff accommodation, toilet facilities, laundry and other back of house facilities.
Accomodation
Accommodation charges include garden bures at $280 per night, beach front bures at $340 per night and one executive beach front bure at $550 per night.

Bayleys Real Estate (Fiji) Limitedmanaging director Phillip Toogood said the key markets for Botaira Resort are;

■Australia and
■United States of America Mr Toogood said the resort is being popular with honeymoon, families and middle aged couples.
Investment
Recent investments include a new desalination plant which cost $50,000 and a new generator valued at $35,000.
The nearest village is Soso which is also home for most of the staff which number between 30 to 35 of which 10 to 15 stay on the resort in the staff quarters, and the rest come from the village on a daily basis. The resort is well known for the abundance of fresh mangos, oranges, mandarins, papaya, breadfruit, wild pineapples and vegetables which flourish in fertile soil on the property.
A marine reserve in front of the resort was created 12 years ago and has been responsible for a huge growth in fish numbers, sea cucumbers and lobsters.
This was done at the initiative of the present owners and fully supported by the villagers who fish outside the reserve area.
