The case of a Sigatoka man facing a murder charge, has been transferred from the High Court in Suva to the High Court in Lautoka.

Shilwan Lal appeared before Judge Justice Vinsent Perera yesterday at the High Court in Suva. He is charged with one count of murder.

The alleged incident happened on November 29, 2017, at Bilalevu, Sigatoka.

State prosecutor Eoghan Samisoni from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions told the court that the proposed agreed facts have been served to the defence lawyer and the State was seeking time to finalise the same.

Defence lawyer Iqbal Khan had requested the court if the matter could be transferred back to the High Court in Lautoka as he had sought the same from the Chief Registrar.

He also told the court that the Chief Registrar had given a written approval on the same.

Mr Samisoni did not object to the same and told the court that most of the prosecution witnesses were from the Western Division.

The matter was transferred to the High Court in Lautoka and adjourned for mention on August 19.

Bail for Lal was further extended.
