Read before responding, Sudhakar urges Opposition

Fiji Sun - - Parliament News -

Minister for Lands Ashneel Sudhakar was irritated with the way Opposition Members were responding to the 2014 Public Accounts Committee report yesterday.

He said Opposition members were highlighting the headings of the documents without reading the whole report under each headline where all the answers were including the recommendations and its progresses.

Commenting on the Land Bank initiative, he said it was only developed by the Bainimarama Government and the FijiFirst Government.

He said the Government encourages land owners to deposit their lands in the land bank. The Government at its own cost would develop the land and sell it at the market rate. 80 per cent of the royalties go back to the land owners.

However, he said any programme that was implemented would have teething problems and over time it would be improved.
