CHURCHILL PARK IN LAUTOKA TO HOST SEMIFINALS, FINAL

The venue for the semifinals and finals of the 2019 INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament has been confirmed.

Fiji Football Associatio­n president Rajesh Patel said they have secured Churchill Park in Lautoka as the venue for the finals.

“After consulting with various councils and sports facilities, Fiji FA has decided to take the semi-finals and final matches to Lautoka,” he said.

“We are very pleased that Lautoka City Council has come with an alternativ­e to make the grounds available to us.” On Saturday, the first semifinal between Labasa and minnows Nasinu gets underway at 6.30pm while at 8.30pm hosts Lautoka face Suva.

“On Sunday at 2pm, the third and fourth play-off will be held while the final is at 4pm,” Patel said.

He confirmed that the ticket price would be $10 flat for adults and child under-12 would be $4. “The tickets will go on sale from Tuesday at Lautoka City Council and Fiji FA headquarte­rs and I urge fans to buy their tickets in advance.”

Patel said fans should expect a thrilling semi-finals and finals this year.

“Looking at the four teams no one can predict who will win this year’s tournament because they all are evenly matched.”

ATTRACTIVE PRIZE MONEY

An added feature to the tournament is the increased prize money by the sponsors. ‘The winner gets away with $17, 000 while the runner-up gets $5000. The third place winner gets $2500 while the fourth finished team will receive $1000.
