Tawake bets on Fiji to beat Samoa
Former Flying Fijians openside flanker Setareki Tawake is in the country with the Akita Junior High School rugby team from Japan.
Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Tawake said he has been following the Pacific Nations Cup.
“I think the Fiji team can make it against Samoa,” he said. “Maybe, they had lost to Japan, it could probably the timing and they needed to adjust their system to the local environment.” Tawake was one of the stars at the 1999 Rugby World Cup in France and he also played for the national rugby 7s team.
Looking at the current Flying Fijians squad, Tawake said they have some talented players like centre Semi Radradra and Josua Tuisova. “Leone Nakarawa is always a standout and the loose-forwards as well,” he added.
