Fiji Airways Fijian 7s rugby stars, Aminiasi Tuimaba and Teri Tamani, were in Kuku Village, Nausori, yesterday promoting healthy living by having breakfast with Sanitarium WeetBix.

The villagers turned up in great numbers eager to meet the HSBC World Sevens Series championship players’ and enjoy a healthy breakfast with Weet-Bix and Rewa Life with them at the same time.

The national campaign between the Fiji Rugby Union and Sanitarium Weet-Bix, authorized dealer, CJ Patel (Pacific) PTE Limited, was evident yesterday. The long-term partnership helped raise awareness and encouragement for the villagers about the importance of starting their day with a healthy and nutritious breakfast.

CJ Patel Group activation co-ordinator Sairusi Yalayalatabua said the presence of the 7s rugby athletes was intended to help inspire the children to have a healthy breakfast, just like their rugby idols. “Weet-Bix has been supporting the rugby boys during their training and preparation for their rugby tournament and that is why we want to come to the villages to inform them about the healthy whole grains and the important vitamins and minerals found in the product,” he said.

Mr Tuimaba and Mr Tamani shared the same sentiments about healthy breakfast. They also urged parents in the village to help encourage their children eat a healthy breakfast because it could help them concentrate well in school. Mr Yalayalatabua said the team would visit other villages and schools around the county all year round.
