Reps from Amer­ica, United King­dom, Aus­tralia and Fiji to at­tend an­nual gen­eral meet­ing

The Methodist Church of Fiji and Ro­tuma rep­re­sen­ta­tives from its di­vi­sions here in Fiji, Aus­tralia, United States of Amer­ica and United King­dom will at­tend its an­nual gen­eral meet­ing (AGM) this week in Suva.

This was con­firmed by the Church Com­mu­ni­ca­tion Sec­re­tary, Rev­erend Wil­fred Re­gu­na­mada yes­ter­day.

“We have the 58 di­vi­sions su­per­in­ten­dents, we have the cir­cuit min­is­ters and the rep­re­sen­ta­tives. The num­ber of rep­re­sen­ta­tives we don’t de­ter­mine be­cause they will be cho­sen from their di­vi­sions,” he said.

“We also have the Methodist min­is­ters from Aus­tralia, UK and the United States of Amer­ica at­tend­ing as well,” he said. “There’s a stan­dard ques­tion­naire in the church’s con­sti­tu­tion that is used ev­ery year dur­ing the AGM.

“The 58 di­vi­sions will also bring up is­sues they would like to ad­dress,” he added.

On Satur­day the week-long Fes­ti­val of Praise and bazaar came to a suc­cess­ful close at Fur­ni­val Park. Rev Re­gu­na­mada thanked the con­gre­ga­tion for their con­tin­ued sup­port and hard work towards the an­nual bazaar and con­fer­ence. “We thank our mem­bers for be­ing faith­ful to the faith and how they have tire­lessly laboured back in the vil­lages, is­lands, high­lands and the out­skirts of Suva to be part of this con­fer­ence.

“It is also a plat­form to net­work and em­power women to bring hand­i­craft to show­case and sell.” Rev Re­gu­na­mada said he could not dis­close the to­tal amount raised from the week­long event, but it would be dis­cussed at this week’s meet­ing which starts to­day.
