Reps from America, United Kingdom, Australia and Fiji to attend annual general meeting
The Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma representatives from its divisions here in Fiji, Australia, United States of America and United Kingdom will attend its annual general meeting (AGM) this week in Suva.
This was confirmed by the Church Communication Secretary, Reverend Wilfred Regunamada yesterday.
“We have the 58 divisions superintendents, we have the circuit ministers and the representatives. The number of representatives we don’t determine because they will be chosen from their divisions,” he said.
“We also have the Methodist ministers from Australia, UK and the United States of America attending as well,” he said. “There’s a standard questionnaire in the church’s constitution that is used every year during the AGM.
“The 58 divisions will also bring up issues they would like to address,” he added.
On Saturday the week-long Festival of Praise and bazaar came to a successful close at Furnival Park. Rev Regunamada thanked the congregation for their continued support and hard work towards the annual bazaar and conference. “We thank our members for being faithful to the faith and how they have tirelessly laboured back in the villages, islands, highlands and the outskirts of Suva to be part of this conference.
“It is also a platform to network and empower women to bring handicraft to showcase and sell.” Rev Regunamada said he could not disclose the total amount raised from the weeklong event, but it would be discussed at this week’s meeting which starts today.
