he South­ern Di­vi­sion Po­lice Box­ing team re­ceived a new set of uni­forms from Tau Sports Limited.

This is for their par­tic­i­pa­tion in the box­ing com­pe­ti­tion at the Mo­bile Po­lice Unit, Nas­inu next Wed­nes­day. Twenty-three boxers all will be par­tic­i­pat­ing with eight po­lice­men and 15 un­em­ployed youth, 12 men and 3 women.

Speak­ing dur­ing the of­fi­cial han­dover, Di­vi­sional Po­lice Com­man­der South­ern SSP Filipe Ji­toko was ap­pre­cia­tive to Tau Sports for their sup­port.

“I say a big ‘vinaka vakalevu’ for your kind heart with re­gards to your spon­sor­ship, ”SSP Ji­toko said

“Most of th­ese boxers are po­lice of­fi­cers and un­for­tu­nately some are still un­em­ployed youths in the com­mu­nity.

“We are look­ing for­ward to the com­pe­ti­tion next Wed­nes­day and on be­half of the 1200-plus of­fi­cers in the south­ern di­vi­sion, we re­ally ap­pre­ci­ate your as­sis­tance.

“I also would like to chal­lenge th­ese youths who wish to join the Po­lice Force later that they will need to prove them­selves at the event.” Tau Sports man­ag­ing di­rec­tor A.V. Gna­nara­jah said they were grate­ful for the op­por­tu­nity to spon­sor the team.

“I would to ac­knowl­edge the South­ern Di­vi­sion polic­ing com­mu­nity team and man­age­ment for es­pe­cially en­gag­ing the youths,” Gna­nara­jah said

“I would like to wish the par­tic­i­pants all the very best in the up­com­ing event.”
