Golf Club Back In Shape
The Nadi Airport Golf Club is slowly getting back to be in playable condition.
And the club will be hosting a fundraising 4-men Ambrose event at Denarau Golf Club next Saturday to fund renovation works yet to be carried out.
The interim committee appointed during a special general meeting on June 16 has made tremendous progress to rebuild the course.
The committee comprised Tom Fox (chairman), Mark Hinton (treasurer), Tui Kabu (greens director) and C S Pillay (secretary).
“The golf course was left idle and overgrown by the previous committee for almost two
years,” Pillay said.
“Our sincere thanks and appreciation to all members who came forward providing support through paying their membership and we would like to request other senior members to update their subscription. The committee has really put in a lot of time and multiple efforts in getting the course back to a playable status.
“It has been just about two months and lot has been achieved. We are immensely thankful to all support, donation and assistance provided at no cost. Negotiation is underway to organize the availability of golf carts for hire. We are intending to start the season opening sometimes by the end of this month.”
Pillay said the club now has a bar as well as a restaurant providing delicious meals and chaser at very reasonable cost.
Meanwhile, the levy for the fundraising event next Saturday would be $200 per team with tee off at 9am.
