Pastor Sandy said we could never limit what God could do here and He was faithful and just to see the church through.

The New Methodist Christian Fellowship has solely relied on tithes and offerings to fund the operations of the church. In an interview with the Fiji Sun, the fellowship’s general manager field operations and senior pastor, Henry Sandy, highlighted that the church does not raise funds for anything.

“Our members freely give from their hearts when it comes to giving. Malachi 3-10 is where we take our cue from,” he said.

“We do not force people to give and it is totally up to them what they want to give.”

Fiji Sun also raised the issue that the operations of the church was big and that the church could not really be sustained through the tithes and offerings received. Pastor Sandy said we could never limit what God could do here and He was faithful and just to see the church through.

“The heavens and the earth and everything in it was made through His word than what is happening here is nothing to what God can do,” he said.

“The church emphasises on believing and keeping God’s word is key to what the church is doing. It all comes down to your faith and if you think God is small, then you will operate in the small.”

Attendance

More than 13,000 New Methodist Christian Fellowship members have been attending the week-long global conference at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

The theme for this year’s conference is ‘God’s Consuming Fire’. Members came from the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Australia and New Zealand.

Pastor Sandy said the conference was a blessing for the church because the church family got to meet members from around the continent.

“The global conference happens every two years, where members here together with global members come and listen to our leaders,” Pastor Sandy said.

The global conference ended last night.
