Fiji Institute of Surveyors Website Launched in Ra

Fiji Sun - - Sunbiz - CHARLES CHAMBERS RA

The newly launched Fiji Institute of Surveyors website will, amongst other information, allow the general public to lodge complaints on bogus surveyors.

The website was launched by the Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources, Josefa Caniogo during the institute’s 2019 congress held at the Golden Point Resort in Ra yesterday.

Andrick Lal, of the Secretariat of the Pacific Community said the website contained all aspects of the Institute.

The website address is http://home.fijisurveyors. org/ (Scan QR Code)

“It contains information on who all the registered surveyors of Fiji are, so the public could go into the site and check this,” Mr Lal said.

He said it also contained events of surveyors in Fiji where they could build capacities and get updated on modern technologies for surveying.

“The site also allows anyone

who wants to get a survey done to contact us through the website and at the same time if a surveyor was not doing his job properly they could also lodge the complaint.”

Mr Lal said complaints on bogus surveyors have been made through the Ministry of Lands and not through the institute.

“There are some surveyors who are not registered with the institute and have been taking money from people but not carrying out surveying in the right way.” Mr Lal said the website was now available online and people could see all details concerned with surveying on the site.
