Matthew McConaughe­y goes back to col­lege

Matthew McConaughe­y, the Os­car-win­ning ac­tor who grad­u­ated from UT Austin with a film de­gree in 1993, has joined the fac­ulty at his alma mater The Univer­sity of Texas at Austin.

Ac­cord­ing to Just­jared, the 49-year-old ac­tor, who’s been a vis­it­ing pro­fes­sor at the univer­sity since 2015, will be teach­ing the script to screen class for the Moody Col­lege of Com­mu­ni­ca­tion.

The news of Matt be­com­ing a pro­fes­sor was an­nounced by the univer­sity on Twit­ter on Au­gust 28. The tweet had a photo of Matt and sev­eral stu­dents in a class­room.

“In recog­ni­tion of his pro­fes­sional pedi­gree and per­sonal in­vest­ment in stu­dent suc­cess, Matthew McConaughe­y has been ap­pointed a #TEXASMoody pro­fes­sor of prac­tice. @McConaughe­y will con­tinue to teach the #UTScrip­toScreen class in @UTRTF,” the tweet read.
