Tabuatausole remembered as a Brave Soldier of Peace
The United Nations resident coordinator and UNDP resident representative for Fiji delivered a moving eulogy for the late Staff Sergent Seniloli Tabuatausole.
The service was held at the Seventh-day Adventist Church at Suvavou, Lami with hundreds attending the funeral of the man who was killed in a car bombing in Benghazi, Libya, last month.
He was a staff member of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).
The UN representative, Sanaka Samarasinha, said: “The passing of this brave soldier of peace is a painful reality to the entire United Nations family and one
that will leave a void in the hearts of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.
“His passing is a stark reminder of the complexity and dangers associated with peacekeeping around the world,” he said.
He is survived by his wife, five children and a grandchild
