A HEAVY RAIN WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR EASTERN HALF OF VITI LEVU [FROM RAKIRAKI TO NAUSORI INCLUDING THE INTERIOR], LAU AND LOMAIVITI GROUP AND IS NOW CANCELLED FOR THE REST OF THE GROUP, KADAVU AND NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS.
A trough of low pressure remains slow moving over the group. The associated cloud and rain are expected to affect the country today.
Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji Group:
For Eastern parts of Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, Lau and Lomaiviti group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands: Periods of rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.
For the rest of Fiji:
Occasional rain and isolated thunderstorms. Rain easing from later today. Cool nights. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.
Moderate to fresh north to northeast, gusty at times. Winds turning southerly from later today. Moderate to rough seas.
Outlook for tomorrow: Brief showers over the eastern parts and the interior of larger islands. Fine elsewhere. Cool at night.
