No decision on the Denarau Corp CEO post yet: Sharma
No decision has been made yet on the appointment of the new chief executive officer for Denarau Corporation Limited.
This was confirmed yesterday by company chairman Pramesh Sharma.
“I would expect a decision may be reached before the month end,” Mr Sharma said.
However, he could not confirm who the shortlisted candidates were.
“That is confidential information which I cannot divulge.
“We are still going through the selection process.”
Matter handle
Mr Sharma said the Human Resource Committee and the board are handling the matter. “Right now we cannot say anything else.”
Position
The position is currently being filled by Robert Speed. Denarau Corporation Limited (DCL) is the Body Corporate for Denarau Island Resort. It has been established pursuant to the Charter for Denarau Island which creates the integrated resort structure that binds all owners and occupiers on the Integrated Island Resort.
In addition, the integrated island resort structure is governed by the Articles of Association of Denarau Corporation Limited.
Core business
The company’s core business is to administer, manage and develop a sustainable, financially viable 5-star integrated island resort community – Denarau Island Resort.
The integrated island resort structure breaks the resort down into individual precincts, namely hotel, residential, commercial. Marina and golf.
Various board directors are appointed to represent individual precincts.
Mr Sharma said the Human Resource Committee and the board was handling the matter.
