Legal Aid Fiji Trains 40 Paralegals
Legal Aid Commission Fiji completed a three-day workshop to train 40 paralegals to provide more effective support to Fijians engaging the commission’s services.
The workshop was held from August 25-27 and paralegals from all the commission’s nationwide branches attended this workshop to further build on the capacities of frontline services.
The workshop was conducted by the director of the commission Shahin Ali and Professor David McQuoid-Mason. Professor McQuoid-Mason is an esteemed professor of law based at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa and also the President of the Commonwealth Legal Education Association.
Legal Aid Commission paralegals were trained on both Fijian and International legal frameworks.
