Four medical specialists from Apollo Hospitals in India will be in Fiji on Friday for consultations. Apollo Agent Fiji and Pacific, Yogen Sharma confirm this.

“Up to 16 patients will be flying out to India this month for medical checkups and surgeries,” he said.

“We have expanded a lot in terms of our presence here in Fiji and the Pacific and we have seen that a lot of patients are contacting us to go overseas for medical assistance.”

The specialists will then visit Tonga and Samoa for more consultations with patients who have been shortlisted to receive treatment in India.

The Group also offers medical business process outsourcing services, health insurance services and clinical research divisions with a focus on epidemiological studies, stem cell research and genetic research.

These achievements have earned Apollo Hospitals Group several accolades, including the Centre of Excellence from the Government of India and recognition from the Joint Commission International (seven of the group’s hospitals are JCI accredited). In a rare honour, the Government of India issued a commemorative stamp in recognition of Apollo’s contribution, the first for a healthcare organisation.
