IRREGULAR BUS SERVICES

It seems that some bus drivers choose when it suits them to take the route which should be serviced regularly by the bus companies they work for. BTL heard that for at least 10 years, residents of a particular area outside Lautoka City have to find their own way to work and school on some days because buses do not come at the scheduled time. Residents who are employed in Nadi have to walk some distance to and from their homes to the main road because of the lack of bus services in the area. This is unsafe for women and school children. Perhaps it is time for the authorities and the bus operators look into the matter and see that bus services are regular for the areas they service.

THE UNPAID MEAL SAGA

As the saga for the unpaid meal continued, the lady from the eatery in Albert Park waited patiently outside the toilet door. Her patience was rewarded indeed as the customer in question did come out, but paid only for the lamb curry he had ordered and ended up returning the two $7 recharge cards he had taken. Good on the lady for not giving up and collecting what was due. However, the intent of the customer is questionable. BTL wonders if he will revisit the eatery for another serve of curry.

THE POLICE VEHICLE STORY

Many a time, people complain about lodging reports with Police and being told there is no vehicle to attend to the report. There will be no reason for Police to say that there is no vehicle if misuse is curbed. BTL was told about a Police vehicle parked outside a house in the Western Division this week for almost two hours from around 1pm. The driver of the vehicle and his wife were both said to be Police officers who were believed to have gone home for lunch. It is advisable that superiors keep a tab on where the Police vehicle is going to and for what purpose. This will surely prevent them from copping the flak from the public on certain occasions. METH SELLERS AROUND THE NEXT CORNER Beware there could be meth sellers around the next corner. A lesson a young member of the BTL crew found out earlier in the week. Going past a popular coffee spot, she was approached by a young man if she would be interested in purchasing the narcotic. This was done in broad daylight and in public. Alarm bells have been ringing for some time now.
