VODAFONE CORAL COAST CARNIVAL Bose: Family Life Vital
She believes social ills can be solved through families spending more time together
This year’s Vodafone Coral Coast Carnival contestant Miss Briz Wholesale Direct Tina Kitiana Bose intends to send a message on the importance of family life.
Like any other country around the world, Fiji is not immune to the many social ills that cripples societies, communities and most of all, families. Surrounded with many horrifying or fatal news concerning society, Ms Bose wants to reiterate the importance of families spending more time together.
“I am excited to be advocating the importance of family life. I believe that with more time spent with our families. If we practice this, there will be fewer social issues crippling our homes, our families and communities as well,” she said. “Family time is equally important as spending time at work, school or social events. We need to strike a balance with these things, but it’s vital that we place close attention to family life more.” The 21-year-old is one of the five contestants competing at this year’s carnival in Sigatoka. Ms Bose is originally from Raralevu, Bau, in Tailevu and is pursuing her degree in automotive engineering at the Fiji National University (FNU).
As for the carnival atmosphere, she has been overwhelmed with support from her close family members and friends. “My family inspired me to take part in this carnival because my grandmother, from my paternal side, is from Yavulo Village in Sigatoka, Nadroga,” she said. The newly-crowned 2019 Miss Vodafone Coral Coast will be announced at 7pm tonight at the Sigatoka Town Council ground.
