HR-Driving Success in a Challengin­g Business Environmen­t. This the theme for the BSP Life 2019 Fiji Human Resources Institute Convention at the Sofitel Resort and Spa, Denarau Island, Nadi on Friday and Saturday. An exciting lineup of 14 key speakers , include is our national 7s Team Coach Gareth Baber is a Former Welsh player and coach.

He is the current coach of the Fiji Airways Fijian rugby sevens team.

He will talk about issues such as team building and motivation. Another speaker is Michelle Phipps, currently Group Head of Talent, Learning and Inclusion at Coca-Cola Amatil, an ASX Top 100 company. She also serves as a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute D&I Advisory Committee.

Now in its 14th year, the Fiji Human Resources Institute has helped raise awareness around the growing strategic role of managing people and harnessing a strong workplace culture. As well as sharing experience­s and best practices amongst human resource profession­als.

Institute President, Kameli Batiweti said: “It is encouragin­g to note that this event is now being attended by chief executives themselves, together with their human resource practition­ers.

“This clearly reflects the strategic role HR plays in the well-being of any organisati­on.” Twenty-five HR practition­ers will be vying for organisati­onal awards during a ceremony which will be held separately from the two-day conference.
