Discover Fiji product to be most comprehensive ‘in-destination reference guide’
Tourism Fiji chief executive officer Matt Stoeckel said the Discover Fiji product would become Fiji’s most comprehensive “in-destination” reference guide and booking service for international visitors.
Distributed on four major platforms — print publication, website, mobile application and on all major social media platforms — the travel guide adds boundless value to Fiji’s tourism sector and showcases the depth and breadth of range of experiences Fiji has to offer.
Mr Stoeckel said: “I remember speaking with Eroni Puamau months ago in my office as he shared the plans for the development of this product that would optimize the experiences of tourists.
“Its surreal to see that vision today comes to fruition.
“At this juncture I’d like to be one of the first to commend the work of three collaborative partners that worked closely together to accomplish this milestone achievement- Rosie Travel Group - Media Metro Limited and FrontPage Media Limited. “This vibrant and booming sector has become Fiji’s fastest growing industry; employing one in every three Fijians.
“New and exciting technical advancements like this collectively propels us forward towards achieving the Fijian Government’s vision to become a $2.2 billion dollar tourism industry by 2021.
Here’s what other stakeholders said:
Mike Greig, Digicel highlighted:
We have been working with Rosie’s on this app and provided the infrastructure that is available to make it happen.
It is important the tourists have the access and availability to the app and it is state of the art which is good for Fiji and the tourism industry.
We have worked hard to make this technology work.
Manoa Kamikamica, Chief Financial Officer and Icanus Tuiloma, Lyndhurst Group of Companies highlighted:
The project was first initiated three years ago. There were many tests to get the product to where it is today. The main thing was getting to customers the message about Fiji.
For the business in Fiji, it was usually the tourists disembarking and then checking on what they would do.
Now tourists just click on to the app from anywhere around the world and immediately they see what Discover Fiji has for them and make their choice and how they would like to spend their holidays.
They were working on additions to the app whereby tourists, while on their way to their holiday destination here, will get information on their phone on what was available in each area they passed.
Kitione Antonio, Head of Enterprise Development, Vodafone highlighted:
We have been working with Rosie from the outset as a partner in terms of online.
The app connects them directly with the customers.
Now customers, wherever they are around the world just have to download the app and make their bookings without even having to visit a travel agent.
Max Moreton, Media Metro Limited highlighted:
Media Metro is the advertising partner for Discovery Fiji.
We have worked very hard with the Rosie team to publish the magazine and its distribution throughout the airport. showcases what Fiji has.
I now it will be a long standing product.
