The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) has consulted residential and commercial customers in Nadi, as part of the upcoming “Planned Water Disruption” in Nadi.

Water supply will be disrupted to customers supplied from the entire Blackrock Reservoir supply zone i.e from Sabeto, Votualevu, Namaka, Martintar, Nasoso and Navakai, from 6pm 2nd November to 7pm 3rd November, 2019.

The interruption in supply is to allow WAF crew members to carry out cut-in works on the realigned section of DN375 inlet trunk mains to the Blackrock Reservoir.

WAF General Manager Customer Services and Acting General Manager Operations, Sekove Uluinayau reiterated the need for customers to sufficiently satisfy their water requirements over disruption period, “each household should store 250 liters of water for drinking and cooking. For other purposes such as bathing, washing dishes and clothes, more water should be stored”. WAF will ensure that during the shutdown period there will be no interruption in the major services such as hospitals, airport, and schools as water trucks will be deployed to cart

water.

“We request customers residing in the affected areas to support this essential operation by storing sufficient water prior to the disruption and to also use water wisely for their immediate needs during this shutdown period,” explained Mr Uluinayau.

Water supply is expected to be restored by 7pm on Sunday evening (03/11).

The Authority regrets any inconvenience caused to its customers and is committed to getting water supply normalised as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, also present were representatives from the Australian Defense Force and the Republic of the Fiji Military Force’s Blackrock Military Camp.
