Krish, Vani Head Lautoka School
Krish Lal and Vani Moreyawa were yesterday badged as the head girl and head boy of Drasa Avenue Primary School in Lautoka.
Krish said he was thankful to the school management seeing his capabilities in carrying out the role of head boy.
He said yesterday marked a day of happiness for him, but it would not distract him from carrying out the duties assigned to him.
“I am reminded that this day is not just to make me happy but to carry out the duties assigned to me,” he said.
“My dream has now become a reality and I don’t have words to express how happy I am.
“As the head boy, I need to fulfill all the duties with respect and determination and give justice to this badge.”
Also sharing her story, Vani said she was content to be assisting the head boy to the school’s expectations this year.
“I feel good that I will be leading the school as head girl this year,” she said.
“I will set a good example to the students and assure the students to grow up and be leaders one day.”
The 13-year-old native from Buretu in Tailevu will be moving on to Natabua High School next year to pursue her secondary level education.
Chief guest, Republic of the Fiji Military Forces, Second Lieutenant, Pio Loaloa urged the young leaders to put their faith in God when carrying out their responsibilities.
“You will need the grace and the strength from our Heavenly Father to be able to carry out your duties
diligently,” said Lieutenant Loaloa.
“Put God first in everything every day and no doubt you will make everyone proud of your leadership role.”
