The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) launched the buyers and sellers registration for the 2020 South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE) that will be held in Christchurch, New Zealand.

The two-day event will be held from May 25 to May 26 at the New Zealand Airforce Museum.

It is the premier Pacific Island tourism trade event that brings buyers and sellers together from 19 Pacific Island countries, and both short and long haul markets including Australia and New Zealand.

Pacific tourism industry

SPTO chief executive officer Christopher Cocker said the SPTE was an important event for the Pacific tourism industry and had grown from strength to strength since its establishment in 2014. “Attendance at the show over the years is a testament to the value of this event to the buyers and sellers as it brings together multiple destinations under one roof,’’ Mr Cocker said.

“It provides a wonderful opportunity for buyers to renew old bonds and forge new ones during the twoday event,” Mr. Cocker said.

SPTE 2019

SPTE 2019 was a great success and proved to be a valuable experience and opportunity for buyers and sellers alike, some of whom have seen the event improve year after year.

New relationships

“SPTE continues to be a very important event in our calendar and this year we were able to establish new relationships with a blend of Buyers from existing and new markets,” said Rosie Holidays general manager Eroni Puamau, who attended SPTE 2019, in Auckland from May 9 to May 10.

The SPTE is an annual event that brings together international buyers from all over the world and sellers from SPTO member countries.

Sponsors

The event is co-sponsored by New Zealand Maori Tourism and is the only Pacific regional tourism trade show that includes multiple destinations. Registration for SPTE 2020 will close on February 11, 2020.
