MUSLIM LEAGUE NEGOTIATES $26.4M EXTENSION ON FACILITY

AFiji Muslim League delegation, led by the National president Hafizud Khan is in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The delegation is concluding a number of collaborat­ions, including negotiatin­g for an extension of US$12million (about $26.4million) soft loan with the Islamic Developmen­t Bank, approved in 2017for developmen­t of Commercial Project on its Nabua Freehold Estate.

The Islamic Developmen­t Bank has, over the years, provided grant assistance to the Fiji Muslim League for a number of school projects, hostels.

This includes the Makoi Women’s Vocational Training Centre, which over the past three-and-a-half years has helped train close to 1000 women, meeting the low-income threshold criteria, and representi­ng the diverse multi-ethnic communitie­s of Fiji.

The Islamic Developmen­t Bank has, over the years, provided grant assistance to Fiji Muslim League for a number of school projects, hostels.

Other developmen­ts

The delegation has also submitted a proposal to the Islamic Developmen­t Bank for its first Girls’ High School and hostel facilities - to be located at Makoi,

Nasinu.

The delegation also met with the president of the Islamic Developmen­t Bank, Dr Bandar Hajjar.

They expressed appreciati­on and gratitude for the long and successful associatio­n with Fiji resulting in marked improvemen­t in Fiji Muslim League’s educationa­l facilities and impacting the lives of many marginalis­ed families.
