Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 7:30pm on Tuesday the 11th of February 2020.
Situation: A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers lies to the northeast of Fiji. It is expected to gradually drift southwards towards the group and affect the northern and eastern parts of the country from later tomorrow.
Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji Group: Cloudy periods with some showers over Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group. Showers becoming frequent and heavy from later tomorrow. Elsewhere, fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and isolated thunderstorms. Moderate to fresh easterly winds. Moderate to rough seas.
Outlook for tomorrow: Occasional showers over Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group.
Elsewhere, cloudy periods with showers and thunderstorms expected especially in the afternoon and evening.
For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Fine apart from brief showers. Outlook for tomorrow: Cloudy periods with some showers and isolated thunderstorms.
For Sigatoka / Coral Coast: Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and isolated thunderstorms.
