Jack’s Fiji Continue With $10 Million Construction Sites
Jack’s Manufacturing Limited continues construction on four major projects worth a collective sum of close to $10 million. Company general manager Amish Patel said the projects started before the outbreak of the virus and would be completed within the forecasted time frame.
Nadi and Suva had two major projects each and were still under construction by Jack’s Manufacturing Ltd.
First phase
The first phase of the Palm Beach Estate Townhouses Project at Wailoaloa in Nadi was nearing completion.
The project, fully owned by Hari Punja and Sons, is listed under Wailoaloa Developments Pte Limited. The construction of the project, which would cost around $40 million when completed, began on May 6, 2019.
The developers had said the development was launched at a level that was not previously available in Fiji.
Townhouses
Chairman of Wailoaloa Developments Pte Ltd, Rohit Punja, had revealed at that time the project included 30 new, modern designed Townhouses which was to be made up of 14-three bedrooms and 16- two bedrooms duplex apartments in a secured gated community on Palm Beach Estate’s 44 acre property, Wailoaloa.
Contract
The contract was awarded to Jacks Manufacturing, for the construction of two of the first Townhouses and Mr Patel said this project was 75 per cent completed.
Nadi projects
The other Nadi project was the McDonald’s three storey office complex.
“This project started about eight months ago and we expect to complete this by the end of the year,” Mr Patel said.
The building is situated near McDonald’s outlet at
Waqadra.
Suva projects
The two Suva projects include the three storey office complex for Fuji Xerox with the other being a fourstorey apartment building for an undisclosed investor.
Mr Patel said the two Suva projects were still under construction with the Fuji Xerox complex expected to be completed before the end of the year.
The latter project may be completed next year. Mr Patel said his construction workers were on reduced working hours.
“Our workforce at Jack’s Manufacturing and who were involved with the servicing of our outlets around Fiji including the airport, resorts and hotels have been reduced,” he said.
