WESTPAC GROUP MAKES INTERNAL CHANGES

The Westpac Group has announced a change to its reporting structure, as part of its 2020 half year results.

Westpac Pacific will move into a new division named Specialist Business division, led by new group executive Jason Yetton.

Mr Yetton is a proven executive who has experience in running large scale retail and banking businesses.

Westpac Fiji and Westpac Papua New Guinea are end-to-end banks that offer consumer/retail, corporate and commercial banking. However, they have previously sat within the Institutio­nal Banking division which looks after large Australian institutio­ns, and large global institutio­ns operating in Australia.

“Westpac Fiji is a strong business that will benefit from being in this new division, focussed on serving the needs of customers with aligned skills and expertise in retail and commercial banking,” said Westpac’s general manager for Asia Pacific Michael Correa.

“This change will not impact Westpac Fiji customers or employees.

“We continue to be committed to serving our customers and offering them the best products and services,” said Westpac Fiji chief executive, Kip Hanna.

“We are investing to improve our products and meeting customers’ preference­s for new technologi­es like our mobile app”.

Mr Yetton is a proven financial services executive with a consistent track record of success, transforma­tion and achievemen­t across banking, funds management and wealth management.

Career background

Most recently Mr Yetton was chief executive officer NewCo, CBA, where he was appointed to lead the demerger of its wealth management and mortgage broking businesses.

Prior to that, he was chief executive officer and managing director for SocietyOne, an early financial services disrupter and consumer finance marketplac­e lender.

Mr Yetton was previously with the Westpac Group for more than 20 years, holding a number of senior positions including group executive, Westpac retail and business banking, and a range of senior executive positions in Bankers Trust Financial Group, including general manager, bankers trust customer solutions and head of product.Mr Yetton is married with three sons and lives in Sydney.
