Parliament’s Facebook live stream terminated

Parliament’s Facebook live streaming has been terminated indefinitely. Speaker of Parliament Ratu Epeli Nailatikau said the decision to remove the live feed was made after it was brought to his attention that automatic generated subtitles were provided by Facebook, which were incorrect and out of context.
He said Parliament did not provide nor had control on the subtitles that appeared on the screen because it was a feature entirely controlled by Facebook.
The termination is also done in order to maintain the integrity of Parliament and the work done.
Viewers can access recordings of the live sessions through the Parliamentwebsite.
