UNIVERSITY TERMINATES LAL’S EMPLOYMENT
The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Pacific’s Technical and Further Education chief executive officer, Hasmukh Lal, has been terminated.
This was confirmed by Mr Lal and the university’s pro-chancellor, Winston Thompson.
Mr Lal responded to Fiji Sun’s email stating that the employment dispute was the reason for his termination.
“The matter is before the court,” he said. He said he could not comment further. In informing the staff of the change,
Vice Chancellor Pal Ahluwalia offered no explanation.
Professor Pal, in an email, said Professor Jito Vanualailai, the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor Education, would be responsible for all the matters.
