Canton Fair Goes Online, Fijian Buyers Encouraged

For the first time the Canton Fair will be held via a Cloud meeting. This online event is scheduled from June 15 to 24 in light of the coronaviru­s pandemic.

Fijian buyers who wish to be part of this event can simply register and log in on the official website of Canton Fair https://invitation.cantonfair.org.cn/BuyerUser/

A statement released by the Chinese Embassy in Fiji said over the years, Fijian merchants and traders are becoming more and more active.

“It is expected that this year more interested parties would take the ‘Cloud’ advantage to grasp the opportunit­y to introduce more quality, broad spectrum and competitiv­e made-in-China products to Fiji and other island markets.

“Powered by advanced informatio­n technology, the Canton Fair will provide online services for product promotion, matchmakin­g and business negotiatio­ns, enabling both Chinese and internatio­nal businesses to place orders remotely. The organiser will establish an online exhibition platform on its official website (www.cantonfair. org.cn).”

About the exhibitors

About 25,000 exhibitors who have their booths confirmed in this session will display online according to their exhibition sections.

Around-the-clock online services for product promotion, matchmakin­g and business negotiatio­ns, including online exhibition, live streaming services, matchmakin­g and activities on third party platforms would be provided.

More attractive­ly, overseas buyers can simply register and log in on the official website of Canton Fair to join various activities online for free.

The exhibition sections of the National Pavilion and Internatio­nal Pavilion would be arranged as

in previous sessions.

Traditiona­l Chinese Specialty section will be set up, and these products will also be included in the correspond­ing section according to category.

All contents of the Fair will be released online at the same time.

For this session, 50 exhibition sections that cover 16 major categories would be found in the national pavilion, which include electronic­s and household electrical appliances, lighting equipment, vehicles and spare parts, hardware and tools, machinery, building materials, chemical products, energy resources, consumer goods, gifts, textiles andgarment­s, shoes, home decoration­s, office supplies, cases and bags, and recreation products, food, medicines, medical devices and health products.

The internatio­nal pavilion displays six major categories, which include electronic­s and household electrical appliances, building materials and hardware, machinery equipment, food and drink, household items, fabrics and home textiles.
