LTDD numbers in Fiji lower today: Health Minister
Leptospirosis, Tuberculosis, Typhoid and Dengue (LTTD) have been classified as climate change active diseases by the Minister for Health and Medical Services, Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete. As a result, the minister said the numbers for LTTD are much lower now compared to the past.
“We have had TC Harold and the two cyclones before, we had an unusual amount of rain so the water tables were up and this contributed to the rise of specifically leptospirosis and dengue, to some extent, typhoid,” Dr Waqainabete said.
