Pakistan detains 2 Indian envoy staff for hit-and-run case

Islamabad: Police on Monday detained two staff members of the High Commission of India in Islamabad for injuring a pedestrian in a road accident here, local media and sources said.

The staff members were trying to flee after hitting the pedestrian when people gathered around their car to stop them. In the meantime, police reached at the incident site and detained the two staffers, local media quoted eye witnesses as saying. Xinhua learned that the two staffers were in Pakistan in the non-diplomatic category, and have been working in the country since 2017.
