Krishika Narayan Calls It A Day at SPX

Krishika Narayan has called it a day as the chief executive officer of the South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPX). Ms Narayan who has been with SPX for more than 10 years, is taking a short break to spend time with her family, especially her daughters and self-reflect on life and past achievemen­ts and future goals.

For her, SPX was a prestigiou­s organisati­on. She says: “It has been my honour to serve this organisati­on as the CEO for past three years and overall for the past 11 years.

“I am currently pursuing all available options I have and then will make a decision on future pursuits.

“As a team, we have accomplish­ed a lot but I am confident that the organisati­on will reach greater heights in future.

“I would like to thank the SPX Chairperso­n, Dr Nur Bano Ali for her motivation and confidence in me as well as the SPX Board of Directors for the support and guidance. “I would also like to acknowledg­e the support I have received from listed entities, broking houses, investment advisors, regulators and other industry players.

“I would also like to thank my team for standing by me and sharing the vision to make SPX into a successful organisati­on,” she says.

Comments from SPX chairperso­n

The SPX chairperso­n, Nur Bano Ali thanked Ms Narayan for her services to the SPX Group and said that she has made significan­t contributi­ons to the developmen­t of the stock market in Fiji.

“She has led the SPX Group through major developmen­tal phases and worked with the board in implementi­ng strategies to help grow the market.

“The SPX board notes Ms Narayan’s intentions to pursue other opportunit­ies and wishes her the very best in her future endeavours.”

One of the memorable moments at SPX she shared was when a school student confidentl­y gave an interview to a journalist at the SPX Annual Awards about her understand­ing of the stock market activities.

About Pretesh Prasad

Pretesh Prasad will assume the acting CEO of the SPX from Monday.

He comes with extensive experience of almost 12 years in the stock market having started off his career at SPX as a Market Analyst in 2008.

Since then he has played an instrument­al role in the developmen­t of the SPX through his various roles over the past 12 years including; Manager Operations, Company Secretary and his current position of Business Developmen­t Manager.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree majoring in Accounting & Financial Management and Economics and has a Postgradua­te Certificat­e and a Postgradua­te Diploma in Business Administra­tion from The University of the South Pacific.
