Police investigate Saweni death
Police are still investigating the death of 31-year-old Private Josese Ledua, who was found lying in a pool of blood near the Saweni Service Station in Lautoka, on Monday.
Police alleged that the late Private Ledua was hit by a vehicle while walking. They have yet to determine if the alleged incident is a hit and run case.
Police spokesperson Savaira Tabua said their investigations would also determine the cause of death.
The late Private Ledua was a soldier based at the Republic of Fiji Military Forces’ Echo Company in Lautoka.
The immediate family members of Private Ledua declined to comment when visited at their home in Natabua yesterday.

It is understood that Private Ledua was from Vanuabalavu, Lau, and has maternal links to Namoli Village. He is survived by his wife and three children.
The road death toll now stands at 14 compared to 27 for the same period last year.
