- INOKE RABONU Edited by Jonathan Bryce

In a bid to make shopping life easier for Fijians in the country and abroad, Post Fiji on Friday launched its ready hamper packs, which would be available via its e-shop. This would provide doorstep deliveries through Post Fiji’s EMS courier services.

The new initiative was launched by the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa.

Mrs Vuniwaqa said new initiatives often emerge from times of disruption, reflecting leadership that cared.

She said the initiative necessitates a closer look at the values and underlying purpose of organisations for business owners.

“This is a time of re-examination of how business owners could make decisions, putting community service at the same level or even greater than the focus on profit,” Mrs Vuniwaqa said.

“I am indeed pleased to see innovative products like the hamper packs that we are gathered to launch coming out as an initiative to help those requiring quick pick up or delivery of items, particularly in what we call ‘COVID-times’, which requires social distancing and implementing strict hygiene measures to control the spread of the virus.”

Post Fiji chief executive officer, Anirudha Bansod said the launch of the hamper packs targeted those who preferred a quick pick-and-go. “These hamper packs will be available at selected Post Shops Fiji-wide. The purchase can be done from the selected 20 shops or by using our e-shop platform where customers can jump online and click the grocery section and select the products and in this instance the hamper packs and add them to the cart,” he said.

“Our doorstep delivery will be facilitated by our EMS delivery services to ensure an efficient and convenient service.”

Post Fiji also donated food packs to the Veilomani Food Bank committee members as part of its social corporate responsibility.
