The Fiji National Provident Fund does not facilitate needs or queries with regards to the First Home Buyers Programme that was announced by Government in the 2020-2021 National Budget.

This was the clarification made by the fund’s chief executive officer Jaoji Koroi.

Mr Koroi said: “However, FNPF assistance will only be applied under our FNPF Housing Withdrawal Policy.”

He said members who wished to access the First Home Buyers grant should liaise directly with the Ministry of Housing and Community Development.

He added that the First Home or Land Government and FNPF Purchase Programme were not available anymore.

Mr Koroi said the fund had been inundated with requests from members who had been unemployed for more than six months to access the relief scheme.

He said they were currently assessing how best to roll out this scheme, which will form part of

Phase 4.

“We seek member understanding because it is not easy to administer these schemes especially when they are running parallel to each other,” he said.

“We need to carefully approach each phase and avoid unnecessary pressure on our members and staff and most of all, minimise confusion.

“The fund is mindful of the demand and situation on the ground with our members, and will act as most practical as possible to meet their demands in line with the capability of our internal resources.”

However, FNPF assistance will only be applied under our FNPF Housing Withdrawal Policy. Jaoji Koroi Fiji National Provident Fund chief executive officer
