- CHARLES CHAMBERS NADI Feedback: com.fj charles.chambers@fijisun.

The Ministry of Health yesterday received 6000 linen pieces from the Westin Denarau Island Re

sort and Spa as part of Marriott International’s Solia Lesu initiative.

Dr Susana Nakalevu, Divisional Medical Officer Western, while receiving the linen at the resort, from the hotel’s manager Yvo van Diyk, said this could not have come at a better time.

“We are so thankful for the generous donation especially here in the western division where Lautoka is the epicenter for COVID-19 for the whole country,”

Dr Nakalevu said.

“Nadi Hospital is also the other hospital for the patients as we need to have clean linen all the time.

“Not only looking at the patients but also preparing the quarantine facilities for our staff and community isolation facilities.

“We thank the tourism industry at this time for thinking of the Ministry of Health.

“It has come at a time when we are preparing for the worst so we need to prepare ahead.”

Dr Nakalevu said the ministry has also received other donations for the isolation facilities which include bed sheets and towels.

“This just makes sure that the supplies are sufficient and we don’t run short.”
