Timing Device Still in Good Condition for Drags
We would also like to inform our association members that for this September race, what the executive committee has decided is for those participants that had participated in the previous race; we will decrease the participation fee by $25 while those participating for the first time will pay the full fee of $50.
We have officially set up a new date for our next Pacific Energy quarter mile drag race.
Date of next race set
It will be held next Sunday, September 13, 2020.
While we are waiting for the timing device to arrive, what we have decided should it not eventuate; we will go ahead and run with our previous timing device which is still functional.
On the same note the executive committee is hopeful that the replacement will not be a repeat of what had happened during the first race after the long COVID-19 break from the race tracks early last month.

In light of our previous race, we did manage to do six to seven runs. It was after those runs when we found out about the whole issue of the faulty new timing device.
With that faulty timing device we
have decided to declare that all the runs on the day scratched and the timings not considered.
Advice
Meanwhile, a reminder to all that when it comes to COVID-19 protocols, we are expecting spectators and members to adhere to COVID-19 policies; these will be observed throughout the event.
Please upload the careFIJI app as we do not wish to spend too much time on managing the entry of spectators and racers into the race venue.We hope that this September race will be a fun race.
My advice to the public is to adhere to the road safety rules and do not drive and drink during this long weekend.
