The Nasinu Football Association received a sponsorship of $10,000 from AMPS Industries for the remaining matches of the Vodafone Premier League. Nasinu FA president Oneil Chand said the sponsorship was one of the key sources of income for the association.

“We are extremely grateful for the support given by AMPS Industries,” an emotional Chand said on

Thursday night.

“We have been struggling a lot since we came into the Premier Division and this sponsorship has been very timely.”

He said they never expected such a huge relief would come their way. “This is a great boost for the association and the players and I thank our former president Ashok Balgovind for negotiating the deal for us. “Balgovind has proved that he is a true Nasinu man, not only getting in the sponsorship but always supporting the team whenever help is needed. “

Chand said they have been selling lunch to raise funds to prepare the team this season.

“We didn’t have a sponsor but we sold lunch to raise funds to support the players as our main priority is always the welfare of our players and the kind sponsorship is a big aid for us.

“I heartily thank the managing director of AMPS Industries Avron Prasad and his family.”

Chand said the players have promised to do all they can to provide the best mileage to the company. “We know every business in the country is struggling but for sure AMPS Industries will surely grow with our support,” Chand said. Company representative Laukesh Lal while handing over the $10,000 cheque said he was impressed with the performance of the Nasinu team.

“Nasinu is known as giant killers and they have proved this in many tournaments and matches. I’m sure the sponsorship will surely boost their campaign in the remaining league fixtures.

“Apart from the sponsorship of AMPS Industries, I’ll personally donate 20 balls and bibs for the team, “Lal said.

Nasinu face Rewa in tomorrow’s Vodafone Premier League clash at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori. The match kicks off at 2pm.
